Put the countdown on your Home Screen

A countdown you have to open an app to see is a countdown you forget. With Countdown Widget: Any Event you add the date once and it sits on the Home Screen or Lock Screen as a widget — every widget size is free, events are unlimited, and it can remind you on the day and as far ahead as you like.

1. Install the app and tap +. Pick the template or type the name.
2. Set the date to Thursday, November 26, 2026. Picked from the ready-made events, Thanksgiving already repeats on the fourth Thursday of November every year. If you typed the name yourself, add next year's date as a new event instead, because a plain yearly repeat keeps the same day of the month.
3. Long-press the Home Screen → Edit → Add Widget (on iOS 17, tap +) → Countdown. Choose the size you like.
