Disney trip countdown widget for iPhone
Add your arrival day as a countdown and put its widget on your Lock Screen or Home Screen; the number goes down by itself every day. Then add the dates that matter before you go — when dining opens, when Lightning Lane opens — so none of them sneaks up on you. In Countdown Widget: Any Event every widget size is free.
Start your trip countdown — free
Step by step
- Install Countdown Widget: Any Event and tap Add Event (or + once you already have events).
- Pick Vacation from the ready-made events, name it “Disney World” and set the arrival date. It marks 30 days, a week, the day before and the morning itself.
- Choose a backdrop, or your own photo with Pro.
- Put it on your screen:
- Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, tap Add Widgets under the clock, choose Countdown and tap Done.
- Home Screen: touch and hold an empty area, tap Edit → Add Widget (on iOS 17, tap +), search for Countdown, pick a size and tap Add Widget.
Dates worth their own countdown
| Countdown | When it opens | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Dining reservations | 60 days before arrival, for the whole stay (up to 10 nights) | Disney Resort hotel guests |
| Dining reservations | 60 days before the meal | Everyone else |
| Lightning Lane passes | 7 days before the first day of your stay | Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels |
| Lightning Lane passes | 3 days before your park visit | Everyone else |
Work out each date from your arrival or park day, add it as its own countdown, and the list widget shows them in order: dining first, then Lightning Lane, then the trip. Disney’s own wording is on its Lightning Lane passes page and on each resort’s dining page.
Counting down as a family
With Pro you can invite someone to the countdown, and it shows up on their iPhone too; joining is free. Change the date once and it changes on every phone. See the shared countdown page for how it works.
