Free online countdown wallpaper maker
Pick a date, add your own photo and download a countdown wallpaper for your iPhone Lock Screen or your computer. Free, no sign-up, no watermark. Your browser draws the picture on this page, so the photo never leaves your device.
The grey time marks where the iPhone clock sits. It isn’t in the download.
On iPhone, tap Save wallpaper, then Save Image.
On a computer the wallpaper downloads as a JPEG.
A wallpaper won’t count down. It keeps the number it shows today. On iPhone, the free Countdown widget shows a number that changes by itself every midnight, on the Lock Screen or the Home Screen.
Get the Countdown widget, freeSet it as your iPhone Lock Screen
- Tap Save wallpaper, then Save Image.
- Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap +, tap Photos and choose the wallpaper.
- Pinch or drag to adjust it if you like, tap Add, then Set as Wallpaper Pair.
The Lock Screen clock and widgets sit at the top of the screen, so the maker places your number in the lower half. That is what the grey time in the preview is for.
Make the number count down by itself
A wallpaper keeps the number it was made with. A widget is the part of the Lock Screen that changes: in Countdown Widget: Any Event every widget size on the Lock Screen and the Home Screen is free, with unlimited countdowns and no ads.
- Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, tap Add Widgets under the clock, choose Countdown and tap Done.
- Home Screen: touch and hold an empty area, tap Edit → Add Widget (on iOS 17, tap +), search for Countdown, pick a size and tap Add Widget.
If you switch to the widget, use a photo without a number as your wallpaper, so the screen doesn’t show an old count next to the new one. Lock Screen widgets are drawn in one tint over the wallpaper; on the Home Screen, the widget itself can show your own photo, which is part of Countdown Pro (how it works).
On a computer
Choose Computer (16:9) as the size. On a Mac, right-click the downloaded file in Finder and choose Set Desktop Picture. On Windows, right-click it and choose Set as desktop background.

Need only the number? The days until calculator counts to any date.
